Fercam Terry Logistica has implemented both StockVoice, a WMS for the management of logistics flows integrated with voice synthesis and recognition technology, and DFD Dogana, the ideal departmental software for the management of customs, excise and VAT activities. The perfect organization deriving from it guarantees that customers will receive fast, efficient and high-quality logistics services supported by computerization and technology.

The Ottobiano meeting was addressed by Marcello Corazzola, Director of FERCAM's Italian Logistics and Distribution Division, and Ivan Novellini, Replica Sistemi's Logistics Line Manager, who explained the steps and excellent results, in terms of productivity and resource savings, deriving from the installation and use of voice technology and the software application for the management of customs warehouses, integrated with the WMS.

In the second part of the afternoon, the attendees took a guided tour of the logistics structure to see how the warehouse operators perform their duties precisely with hands and eyes free.

The hero of the day was Voicetechnology. Directly from the voice of an operator, the numerous participants had an opportunity to understand the concrete advantages deriving from the use of voice-recognition system integrated with StockSystemEvolution, the number one software for warehouse management on the market.

In the attractive structure of the Ottobiano logistics center, inaugurated in 2009 and still being completed, Marcello Corazzola, Director of FERCAM's Italian Logistics Division, welcomed participants explaining that the structure was built through a joint-venture between FERCAM and its customer Terry Store-Age SpA. In this innovative facility, Fercam Terry Logistica also manages a 4PL project, unique in Italy, for its customer Metro, which consists in the supply of integrated logistics in partnership mode by meeting the need for one-stop-shopping. Based on this model, the logistics operator is compensated with a fixed rate plus one percent of the savings obtained through its intervention: a successful strategy for those competing with the lever of logistics!

The Ottobiano structure has a total covered surface area of 22,000 m² for a total of 40,000 pallet places. The facility is equipped with the most advanced radio-frequency, RFID and StockVoice technologies from Replica Sistemi. Located midway between Malpensa Airport and the Port of Genoa for air and maritime transports, it also has a customs warehousethat interacts directly with the Agenzia delle Dogane, thanks to Replica Sistemi's DFDDogana application software, for all customers engaged in import/export.

The floor was then given to Ivan Novellini, Replica Sistemi Logistics Line Manager, who explained the main features of the high-performing StockVoice and DFDDogana implementations.

The attendees then moved to the warehouse and had a close-up look at warehouse operations conducted with extreme precision and speed to provide punctual service for each customer. The tour of the structure was perfectly organized and led by several FERCAM managers who, in addition to a practical demonstration, explained the functions of the integrated systems for planning the stocking and picking of goods and highlighting its numerous advantages with satisfaction.
